Lieutenant Nikolai Andropov's team had left as many forcefields up as had been taken down so now they could explore the station. However they encountered active fields up around common areas and most rooms that had major computer access. Lieutenant JG Jem Lockley and Ensign Geno went with them because there was much need for the scientist and engineer respectively.
Lieutenant JG Bennington Biraka was back on the Righteous, in sickbay helping Petty Officer Alexander Garber, though could return soon, while Lieutenant JG Thaddeus Quint was with Lieutenant Commander Lochlan Noir, Lieutenants Ralph Furlong, Corus Sprint, Ensigns Anastasia Targus, Kharak and Master Warrant Bhen Dae in the Stasis chamber.
They all stood facing the pod that contained the wounded male, Lochlan figured they should help him first as the others weren't in need of medical assistance. "Doctor Quint, whenever you're ready," Lock said with a smile.
"Aye," Quint said and got to work waking the wounded male. He had most of the medical equipment to treat just about anything though Thaddeus has suggested earlier they just beam the pod back to the Righteous but it seemed that whatever was acting counter to the station's computer had put a scattering field after Biraka left.
The pod chirped indicating, the occupant would be awake within 10 minutes according to the pod's display.
Lochlan wondered who the man was, "We may have to restrain him as he might think we are responsible for putting him in the pod. Master Warrant, Lieutenant Sprint, get ready."
"Sir," Corus replied as he readied to manhandle the occupant.
"Settle, Ensign," Dae said, "he's heavily wounded, if I'm any judge, and I think I am. That leg looks pretty bad, no matter how combative he may want to be, he's not going to be much of a threat. This guy, though," Bhen said, turning to face the opposite pod. "He's armored and got a weapon in the pod with him. The armor's pretty banged, like he's already been in a fight. Neither look like they're in the best shape physically, but this guy," he pointed again to the opposite pod, "has weapons on him. That levels the playing field as far as he may be concerned." He scowled. "We should probably find out if there are others in a similar situation - combatants who may be armed."
Dae sighed as he checked the countdown. He wanted to have that intelligence beforehand, but there was still a threat in the station somewhere. "Commander, I don't think we should have teams wandering about on the station just yet. There's still a threat out there, one that we've had a hard time detecting on the first go round."
“I understand, though they have Security escort. =/\= Noir to Andropov, do not go any further then 2 decks. =/\=“ Lock ordered after a tap on his combadge.
=/\=“Understood sir,”=/\= Nik’s voice replied.
“Is that acceptable Master Warrant, we are all Starfleet and so signed on knowing exploration is dangerous.” Lock stated and smiled. “You can contact Andropov’s team and order them back at anytime should you feel the need.” Lock added after a moment’s consideration later.
Quint was watching the conversion and got a nod from Lachlan to continue. The countdown ticked down and Lachlan wondered what the wounded man would be like.
Dae shrugged and checked the response, a reminder that they had security in this room as well, and now one of his officers was sent to sickbay.
Ten Minutes Later...
It was like waking from a deep but dreamless sleep. There was a sense of the passing of time, but how much wasn't known. It could have been minutes, it could have been hours or days. But, as Talrian was coming awake, feeling the lingering effects of the cold. He shivered which brought him further into waking. Then, groggy, he opened his eyes to a tableau weirder than anything he could dream up. Faces around him, staring at him. But one thing was immediately apparent. "Starfleet?" he asked, his voice raspy from a raw, dry throat.
“Hello, please take it easy, I am treating your wounds and we have to move you to this gurney. What is your name?” Doctor Thaddeus Quint spoke softly and gently put himself into the newly awaken man’s vision.
"Captain Talrian Bran, Federation Marine Corps or System's Alliance Armed Services, depending on where I am." Talrian continued to look around. "Where is my sergeant?"
A marine? Interesting… Lochlan thought as he decided if he should step in or not.
“Captain calm down,” Thaddeus ordered. “I am Doctor Thaddeus Quint of the Federation starship Righteous. If they are with you then they are still in stasis. You are the first we have woken. I must see to your wounds, please let me.” Thaddeus pleaded with his charge as he offer his hand.
"Yes, Doctor, okay," Talrian said. He eyed the gurney with a wry smile. "That's familiar." Using Quint's assistance, he got himself out of the stasis pod, placing all his weight on his good right leg and managed to hop onto the gurney. He lie back, worried still about the injuries and infection to his lower leg. But if this version of Starfleet was similar to what he knew, he had a much better chance of completely recovering. "When you find my sergeant, I'd like to know that he's okay. He..." Talrian stopped for a moment, thinking about the last two weeks that he remembered. "He saved my life as best he could. I owe him for at least that."
That's when Lochlan chose to step in and physically went to Talrian's other side. "Hello Captain, I am Acting Commanding Officer of the Starship Righteous, Lieutenant Commander Lochlan Noir. You will be able to join us when we wake him," Lock said and gestured for Quint to lead the way to the medical center proper.
Thaddeus nodded and began to push the gurney out of the row of pods and Lochlan, Ralph, Corus, Anastasia, Kharak began to follow.
"Coming Dae?" Lock asked as they all headed for the exit. The security team from around the chamber converging on them.
"What?" Dae asked, still staring around the room. As a career security officer, he didn't like the idea that one of his people - no matter how temporary his command assignment may have been they were still his responsibility - was attacked in a room full of Starfleet personnel and no one saw the assailant. He noticed the contingent of Starfleet personnel were on their way out of the room. He gripped his phaser rifle and settled it in a more conveniently ready position. "Yeah, Commander, yes. Coming." He walked quickly to catch up with the remainder of the group, but kept a watch out as he left.
"Sprint," he said as he caught up to the group. "Let's talk when we get back aboard the ship."
